5 Reasons You DON’T Need To Change Your Body Before Your Boudoir Session
But the point of a boudoir session with me is to embrace your flaws and walk out of my studio feeling even more confident about the woman you are. And in the event you are still feeling a little self-conscious about your tummy or crow’s feet, you don’t have to stress about trying to change anything before your session. There’s no need to spend more time in the gym or grabbing last-minute injections. There are ways to hide your “flaws” until you begin to completely embrace them, but I promise after a session with me you will! Here are five ways we will make you look and feel perfect on the day of your session!
Amanda's Selfie Session
As a boudoir photographer, I spend my days behind the camera photographing beautiful women and empowering them to love themselves and their bodies. But one day I realized that the only way to give my clients the experience they deserve was to step in their shoes (heels!) and see what a shoot was like for myself. Doing my own selfie session helped me to better understand how to photograph women and how truly transformative this experience can be. I started off my selfie session as part of a mentoring program for other boudoir photographers, but then Covid hit and I suddenly discovered another, and even more important reason to do it—for myself.
5 Sexy Non-Lingerie Options for Your Session
When you dream about a boudoir session, your mind probably immediately thinks of glammed up women in lingerie. And maybe you’ve considered booking a session, but you’re not quite comfortable posing in these slinky little numbers. Well, great news! What you wear to your session is entirely up to you! If you’re in search of alternatives to traditional lingerie, I have a number of suggestions that will make you feel both beautiful and comfortable during your session. Here are five looks that break with boudoir tradition, but will still bring the sexy to your shoot!

Amanda’s Strong Women Series | Liz Erlandson, Renovate Fitness
Confession time. Working out is not my jam. Don’t get me wrong, I like to live a healthy lifestyle and that includes exercise. But the thought of going to a gym where strangers can see me (especially right now) makes me cringe. I know lots of you ladies feel the same way. I also know many of you probably made New Year’s resolutions that include improving your fitness which has been super difficult to keep up with lately.
But what if instead of sweating it out at a big box gym, you could visit a small, clean fitness studio with female trainers who work with you privately or in a small group of 3-4 like-minded people? Even I’d be willing to hit the gym for a supportive atmosphere like that! Sounds like a dream right?
4 Reasons Why A Boudoir Session Is The BEST Gift You Can Give Yourself
The holidays are fast approaching and I’m SO excited because I pride myself on being a pretty damn good gift giver. I really try to give each of my friends and family something that shows I put a lot of thought and effort into it. But I’ve been thinking...and I can’t remember when the last time I gave MYSELF a gift was. Sure, I set aside a little time each day to practice self-care, but I honestly can’t remember when I last gave myself a gift - something I truly want and deserve regardless of cost or any other excuse.
Jessica’s Story
Have you ever met one of those people who completely changes your perspective? That’s how I felt when I recently did a boudoir session with my client, Jessica Colburn. While getting her hair and makeup done for the shoot, Jessica shared her story of being a Neuroendocrine cancer fighter and I just knew I had to share it (and her amazingly gorgeous photos) with all of you.

At Which Point In Your Life Journey Should You Do a Boudoir Shoot? NOW.
One of the best parts of my job is how intimate I get to be with my clients. It takes a lot of guts to participate in a boudoir shoot, so I try really really hard to be open and welcoming throughout the entire process. We may be strangers when I first meet my clients, but after experiencing a boudoir session, I can honestly say we part ways as friends. We spend most of the session chatting and I get to learn a lot about each person’s journey that has led them to my studio.
