5 Things to Avoid Before Your Luxury Boudoir Session

Luxury boudoir photography is an experience to cherish for a lifetime. It celebrates the glam goddess you are and helps you fall in love with your body. But, as you prepare for your steamy hot shoot day, there are some things that you must avoid. The modern lifestyle does have its perks. But in photography, some vices of today’s unhealthy lifestyle can show up in excruciating detail. On top of that, some essential habits can also interfere with your shoot day sexiness. That is why we have compiled a list of five things to steer clear of before the all-important photoshoot!

Things to NOT do before your Exciting Shoot Day

  • Munch on Sodium-rich Snacks: The busy lives of our modern-day beauties can often be quite hard on the body. The temptation of ordering in or munching on some junk food is almost ubiquitous today. But sadly, most of these fast-food options are loaded with sodium. Sodium-heavy meals can make your body hold on to fluids, making you look heavy and bloated. That is why it is imperative to skimp on sodium-rich snacks for about a week before shoot day. Skipping sodium-heavy foods can help you look more toned for your lingerie photography look!

  • Let the Drinks Flow: You may love to down a few drinks before important life events so you can relax and let loose. But it might not be such a wise decision to let the drinks flow before your boudoir shoot. Partying and drinking heavily before your session can make your eyes look puffy. Excessive alcohol intake can also reduce hydration levels, making your skin look dull and dry. That is why it is best to hold off on drinking too much right before the shoot day. If you must grab some alcohol to calm your nerves, make sure to drink only a little!

  • Live that Tan Life: Who doesn’t love a gorgeous warm tan, right? Well, while the golden glow can make you feel more exotic than ever, it can often clash with the gorgeousness of boudoir shots. Tan lines can look unseemly when posing in sexy lingerie and can be almost impossible to remove with retouching. The bright lights may also make the orange shade stick out like a sore thumb as you pose for your sensual photos. If you must get a tan before your boudoir shoot, make sure it is more than a week in advance. Alternatively, you can opt for an even coat of light spray tan to complement your natural skin tone.

  • Pull an All-Nighter: Good sleep is vital for making your skin glow the way it should. Avoid pulling all-nighters too close to shoot day so you can turn up looking dewy and fresh. So, make sure you get some shut-eye before your shoot.

  • Get a Last-Minute Waxing Job: Waxing can cause rashes and bumps and leave trails of inflammation on your skin. In addition, it can take some time to soothe them. So, unless you want your photos to show these inflammations, any luxury boudoir photographer would advise you to get your waxing job done well in advance!
